Houston Heights boundaries and location
Houston Heights sits northwest of Downtown inside Loop 610. The historic core is commonly associated with the area north of I-10, south of the 610 corridor, east of North Shepherd Drive and west of the Studewood/Heights-area eastern edge.
The City of Houston recognizes three principal Houston Heights historic districts—East, West and South—with more precise block-by-block boundaries. Those district boundaries are smaller than the broader neighborhood people commonly call Houston Heights.
The display uses the commonly recognized Houston Heights core, while the City of Houston separately designates Houston Heights East, West and South historic districts within that broader area. Greater Heights is a larger geography and should not be treated as identical to Houston Heights. Verify the exact subdivision, historic designation and deed restrictions for a specific property.
